Our China lamps are hand crafted by our Beijing lamp maker George Ma. The art of lamp crafting was handed down from his father and insures that each lamp is a work of art. He chooses each piece from antique vendors and collectors and designs the lamp around the piece. After the lamp is designed and made, Mr. Ma then designs and makes the silk lamp shade to match each lamp. He looks at the shape and color of each lamp and the lamp is then made to accent each lamp. Each lamp is a unique expression of Chinese history. One of the things that make his lamp special is that he hangs a jade hanger from each shade to give it more interest. Trade Route’s Thai lamps are a perfect accent for a beach home, mountain home, or lake-side cabin. They have a bit more of a rustic look to them.
