Trade Route is an Import Furniture and Accessories store, opened in 2007, in Greenville, South Carolina. Sherry Smid, owner, has both lived and traveled extensively overseas for over 20 years. She, and her husband Fred, lived in Greenville from 1999 to 2004 and owned Pettigru Place Bed and Breakfast. They sold their business and relocated to Beijing where Fred currently lives and works. About three years ago Sherry “retired” and moved back home to Greenville, opened Trade Route Imports and once again enjoys being a part of the business community. Living and traveling in Asia has given Sherry and Fred a good view of the quality and variety of products available. With this overall global knowledge and love for all things Asian, they bring this unique business to Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and the surrounding areas. Some customers come from as far as Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte, and Columbia, SC just to see the newest collection from our international artists and vendors. Everything in the store is hand selected and “one of a kind.” Louise Ryan, the store manager and Sherry do all the shopping for the products themselves. They pass on the opportunity to purchase wonderful Oriental and Eastern treasures at a great value to their clientele and designers. |

Trade Route offers a large variety of home furnishings and accessories such as timeless Asian furniture, Chinese Antiques, reclaimed teak furniture from Thailand, Tibetan rugs, original paintings, art, custom made lamps, garden statues and outdoor furniture. In addition to retail offerings, Trade Route also offers educational classes including Feng Shui, the art of Bonsai and Designer Classes on how to integrate Asian pieces into any house or office décor. Due to many requests from our out-of-state customers, we are now launching our updated website and offering online sales. |
