Trade Route is an import furniture and accessories store, opened in September 2007, at the Shops of Greenridge.

Sherry Smid, is the owner and has both lived and traveled extensively overseas for over 20 years. Sherry recently met Jane Johnson in Beijing, where they found that Greenville was going to be the “next stop” for them. Sherry, and her husband Fred, lived in Greenville from 1999-2004 and owned Pettigru Place Bed & Breakfast. They sold their business and relocated to Beijing where Fred still works for ConocoPhillips. Now, about to retire, and move back “home to Greenville” Sherry looks forward to becoming a part of the business community once again. Living and traveling internationally has given Sherry and Fred a good view of the quality and variety of products available. With this overall global knowledge, they understand the value of these products and hope to bring this unique business knowledge to Greenville and the surrounding areas. Everything in the store has been hand selected by them. Taking on the research of product lines and participating in all the direct buying, they hope to pass on the ability to purchase wonderful treasures at great values to their customers. All Trade Route’s items will be imported from Asian countries including China, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Tibet, and Mongolia. Every product has been hand crafted and includes many unique and ‘one of a kind’ items. Some of the items they will have in their store will be living, dining room and bedroom furniture, pottery, art work, designer mirrors, lamps, and textiles. Also, there will be some unique stone work for home and garden. These products include some exclusive designs not carried in the USA at this time. Trade Route will also carry exclusively designed jewelry and fun gift ideas.
